Last night a few of us were invited through to the Beatson Institute for a thank you evening from the hosts Cancer Research UK .

The evening started with a talk from a very pregnant Kirsteen Campell from C R UK followed by a talk from Professor Frank Kozielski on Stuctural Biology and drug development ,, i think the rest of the guys were mortified at this point when i decided to move in my seat,, not a great idea when your wearing a pair of leathers on a plasticy seat,, well it sounded like a fantastic loud fart ,, christ i thought the lads were gonna cry,, i was in bits as the woman sitting along from me thought it was a fart,, i could feel myself moving down the chair,, brilliant..

Next up was Professor Hing Leung , group leader of urology research , very interesting on what they have and are developing in the fight againt cancers..

Then onto Professor Gavin Halbert on regarding how they turn the raw drugs they research from the beatson institute into consumable and useable prescriptions without killing the patient..

Out of the robertson trust lecture theatre for coffee and cakes,, marvelous they were to..

Now the laboratory tours where the scientits work everyday,, spotlesly clean as you can imagine with the latest high tech medical equipment,, they were telling us that the latest microscope they have had installed cost a cool £300,000k and is worth every penny if it even helps one cancer sufferer down the road.

They get no funding what so ever from the goverment which i cant understand and rely solely from donations,, hence there are so many great people raising funds for this great institute and im so glad we have raised what we have and donated to such a great charity.

Yep my avid little readers myself and jenn are making our yearly pilgrimage over the pond to Toronto tommorrow,, yeee haaaaar.. Flying from glasgow direct to pearson toronto where susan ( the big barrell ) my sister will be picking us up,, for the record,, my aulder sister…

Sunday night we are off to the ice hockey to see the toronto maple leafs against buffalo at the air canada centre so that should be good,, loads of kickin the shit out each other on the ice,, braw..

Come on STV get a grip with your programmes after midnight,, i mean who the hell wants to watch live roullette,, what a load of pish.. What is happening in this country that folk wanna gamble all their hard earned dosh,, or most probably dosh frae the social,, on shitty tv programmes that are hosted by a “pretty” boy and a kiddon blonde wae false tits and that stuff they blaw their lips up wae,, christ ye could throw her at a windae and she wid stick fast..

When i was younger ye could switch yer tv on at night and there was always a programme on with Tom Weir,, fantastic.. For folks that dont know or have nt heard of him he is a scottish bloke that used to walk all over scotland dressed in a red bonnet(hat), yer fishermen freinds jersey, a pair O plus fours and a anorak fae C&As reporting what he found and always spoke to folk wae real scottish names like murdoch or finlay,, he also had a nose like a babboons arse, but when ye were wee you just wanted to go visit all the places he had been.. But great tv he produced and remember its over 30 years ago they were aired when folks actually gave a damn about their social history unlike nowadays..

So come on shitty tv (stv) get a grip and get some weirs way back on after midnight and stick yer roullette up yer arse,, kids might even watch it and learn about their own country if there no oot snortin lines or stealin cars or killing folk fur a pound..

Hey fellas was through in Glasgow yesteday at west coast to pick up my new number plate for the harley and they have some cracking bikes in there at the mo and are doing some cracking deals so if any of ya are looking for a hog get along there.. I was very surprised what they would give me for my one against a new one,, mind you my one has low low miles and has never seen rain.. It was great to ride through there on the bike yesterday with not a cloud in the sky, pure harley magic and seen i wis in glesga it wis pure dead brilliant by the way..

Jesus just had a close one on the way back from work today with a kamakaze pigeon,, thank feck i was on billy beemer as if it had been the blade i wis aff.. It came straight for me and scudded the front guard,, feck it was like a scene from roadrunner,, there was nothing but feathers everywhere ..

Anyhoo,, what another glorious superb day,, the same has to be had for the rest of the week aparently ,, out to play on the bikes with no rain ,, ye haaaaaar..

Yep ladies i think we should have a wee get the geether afore the real cauld weather hits in the form of a tenting adventure.. Will speak to wee tie strap in the morning and get the park booked for us bunch of mentalists. Of course there will be a bar b que and copius amounts of liquid refreshments and if we ask wee twaddle he might even bring the kareoke machine again,, Oh no.. Its still relatively busy up there at the mo so will try and book it for mid october so if any of ya bunkernuts wanna come along give us a yell ..

Changing the subject totally here to what i read in the paper today regarding cyclists having to pay a tax for using the roads in the uk,, road tax i guess,, where the feck are this goverment gonna get off,, i thought as many of us did that your form of transport ie car, motorcycle, truck etc was taxed on emissions,, im i missing something here as i huvnae ever seen a raleigh feckin chopper wae a side exiting exhaust.. These brainy buggers they call scienTITS that the politicians(dickslaps to you and i)trust with there enviromental judgement must ken something we average folk dinae know about these new polluting push bikes .. Speaking from experience regarding the cycling,, the only pollutting substance that emits the atmosphere from me when im on my bike is when i release twa farts and a grunt when one is trying to go uphill,, tax me on that twats .. Yet 5 days a week, 100k a year ,your average politician,not em all mind you, talk pure shite releasing millions of tons of methane gas into the atmosphere .. Wait for it,, its coming,, first it was the identity card, the tax on cyclists,, now ,, everyone in the uk will be fitted with a digital counter on their sphinkter muscles and will be charged accordingly to what gas you emit into the atmosphere,,, Its the new scheme from the goverment and its called the ass tax.. Can you imagine it,, christ all the indian curry hooses would be literally shittin it and closing doon in days.. No more lentil soup or haggis,, farts would be a thing of the past..

So there you have it folks,, Whether it be 5,10,20 years from now you heard it here first regarding the Ass Tax,,

Hey folks what about this fantastic weather were having at the mo,, why could nt it have been as good as this all summer.. Anyhooo its been that good i have been using the Harley for the last three days and have been loving it big time,,you either love these things or loathe them but for me theres just something about them especially when you have a set of sreamin eagles burbling out the sounds

Just wished that the weather was as good last weekend when we were all up at the red squirel in glencoe.. From the moment we left big maximus pad it trashed it down all the way to the squirel.. Dont get me wrong i dont mind riding in the rain but when its hitting ya sideways its not much fun.. Twaddle and lizzie had the right idea with a room booked in the clachaig so they were sorted but for us hardcore (FANNYS)we went down the tent road.. Feck me i felt like i was sleeping on a raft all night.. We all headed to the pub for some dinner as we were all soaked and hungry,, i never even took of my water proofs as it was still stoatin.. Hairy pie later,, thats steak pie to all ya foreigners out there and a shit load of drink it was back down the half mile to the tents, joy.. We awoke the following morning and yep it was still bloody raining,, big max done what he came to do and all our thoughts were with ya fella.. Meanwhile the budgie was twirpin away with his stove and his wee frying pan, honestly 5 grains O rice would fill this up its that wee.. Good on him anyway as he had the bacon rolls on the go and big nick had the coffee on,, thank feck as i think the lot of us had a sore heed.. Alistair and lizz apeared and lizz was green,, that green she was shoutin fur hughey ahint a tree,, but honest it wisnae the drink,, right then.. Talking O which wee tie strap was giving it laldy next door to me,, i could here hugheys name gettin shouted that night as weel.. So that was really that,, a bloody great weekend was had by the lot of us and a huge thanks to big craig for letting us go along with him to pay respect to IRENE

Everyday at the moment is the same horrible weather, its like bloody groundhog day.. Seemingly we have a weather warning for tonight and tomorrow for real heavy rain, nae chinge there then..

This weekend all us numty heeds are tenting it out up north,, just hope its dry for a little while or the pub seems a sensible warm option..
