Another Way Around Blog

Hey folks just a quick one to say the walk was an absolute blast and i shall have a full report in the week ,, loads and loads to tell ya all and i should have a final total raised by the end of the week but its looking way better than what we all expected .. 18 in all left glasgow last saturday and 18 arrived in fort william friday there,, hats off to everyone of them .. Made lots of new friends and i thank everyone of ya for taking part and making the trek north and from accross the water to get here..

The day has finally arrived,, the 21st of may has shot in,, its a little warm outside but hey at least it aint raining as yet.. Budgie is heading through from sunny hamilton as i write this so we will head down and get the van from GM flooring in Linlithgow,, massive thanks to Billy Gemmell yet again for the use of the van .. Fish is on his way back from Edinburgh airport to Haddington with Doug Hacket who is all the way from an even warmer, sunnier California ..

So its just a case of getting our gear into the van,, through to haddington for the rest of the gear and then off through to Milngavie to set up camp afore the 96 mile trek to Fort William..

Will try and update the blog during the week but i aint promising so keep your eyes peeled and good luck to my fellow walkers and thanks for taking part,, it will be tough but good..

Down at the Fish s house today and what a great laugh especially the story about his mate that was that pissed in his tent he could nt find the zip to get out as he was feeling sick and guess what he was ,, manking..

Any roads,, two days to the off, just been out buying bits and bobs, been to makro buying a large pot for all out grub to be heated up,, went and bought the Budgie and the Fish a midgie net hat and thats about it..

Just about there folks ,, im off from tonight so its all systems go… We have had tonnes of free stock thrown in to the hat and i must say a massive thanks to John Yeardley of Woodward foods, we certainly could nt have done this or in previous years without your helpthanks mate…Also gotta say thanks to wee brian up at the Beecraigs for all the use of the gear and cooking of all the food,, cheers bud.. Gotta say thanks to Lauren for the free beer, cheers pal and im sure all the rest of the guys will enjoy it.. Also thanks to Batleys Cash and Carry for the free belhaven,, have ye noticed theres always alcohol involved with these trips,, ah what the hell we will walk it off..

So its through to Milngavie on friday to the campsite before the off on the saturday , then its 96 miles of stunning scenery and hopefully cracking weather..

Whether you have heard of this legend or not he was one of the greatest ever vocalists in the heavy rock scene that has ever lived .. He died yesterday ,, 16th may,,in LA from stomach cancer, RIP Ronnie you will be greatly missed ..

I was lucky enough to see him perform 4 times and in my eyes he had the most powerfull voice and presence on stage even though he was only 4″3 tall

Its looking really good on our fund raising totals so far,, way way better than what we expected .. We have 19 folks on the walk and they are all raising funds individually so its hats off to ya all Will obviously spill the total very very soon but we have a walk to do first ,, its coming in very quickly and personally i cant wait to get rolling..

Just in from work and looking at the news and i must admit i felt a little sorry for gordon brown when he came out in front of the media to resign and to then walk away with his wife and two sons.. Again i feel sorry for him as to the state of the country when he took over the reigns,, tony blair certainly knew when to get the feck out and leave all the shit to brown to try and clear up..

Well its now time for david cameron to try and get the country back to full strength,, good luck pal yer gonna need it..

Ony roads,, enough of all this dribble,, “thats pish in scottish",,i decided today that i would give norfolk line ferries a call regarding getting over to holland via rosyth for a wee jaunt down to austria .. Duly telling the agent on the other end of the line “that will be two passengers and one motorcycle” ,,, cabin or recliners sir???,, give me a price on both please… Five minutes later they came back with,, wait for it,, £880 for a return trip with a cabin or £580 taking recliners,, well i just about shit myself and said to them that i did nt want to buy the fecking boat and hung up.. No wonder they aint busy over there,, so what does Daveeedoff think of Norfolk Line Ferries??? more like NOFUCKIN way folks ..

Hey dudeeees,, hope your all well, fine and randy .. Just back in from a blast on the blade jimmy pedrossa style,, not,, i had to take it out a run today even though it was only up to work and back as it was sitting winking at me in the garage the dirty beeetch that it is .. God that thing is pure mentaly insanely quick,, definately made for the track and not the pot holed shit state our roads are roon here .. I kid you not there is a pot hole up the beecraigs road being used as a boating pond its that fung big,, get it fixed west lothian cuntsil afore some one gets hurt..

So hows about a get the geether very soon one weekend, whether it be a camping night up the road or up to lochearnhead? ,, i will defo be up for it so give us a yell and give us yer thoughts on where ..

Got a text from wee allan that we met over in austria last year on the weekend and guess where he was texting me from,, yep the enzian in landeck,, lucky bastewards and good on ye bud,, nothing like rubbing it in.. Thats another trip thats coming very very soon, oh yes.

Woke up this morning and the sun was splitting the sky for once, shower, shave and then pulled the vfr out of the garage for a jaunt before work.. Shades on and off i went , bloody fantastic. Empty roads with none of the during the week usual rep mobile traffic,, bliss.. God i forgot how good a vfr is,,hard to beat , unless its a GS of course,, for sure one of hondas best bikes ever..

Lets hope the weather is as good in the morning as it was today cause if it is im off for round 2 afore work

Any roads im hitting bed as i have another 12 hour shift calling me in the morning

Through at the Fish s place yesterday and we are now ready to rock re the walk.. We have folks coming from California to Munich which will be well cool .. All in we are looking at 18 folks on the walk with the budge driving the support van with all the gear, food and beer of course .. Can you believe that we are into may already,, where has the year went so far …
All the politicians are coming out the woodwork looking for our votes as polling day is tomorrow so to keep them in a job for another term.. I know who im voting for and its certainly not Brown, Cameron or Cleggy as they are as bad as each other.. Anyroads enough of this political shit as it does nt really matter who gets into power as the country is Fud anyway..

Great news today in the form of the Support van for the walk has been loaned to us from Billy Gemmel of GM Flooring ,, really nice bloke and good on GM for sponsoring us ,, thanks very much folks..

All the food for the walk or most of it is being supplied from my supliers at work and more will follow on this as soon as i get more info..

Meeting down at Fish s place tomorrow for the final details and final planning as its getting near to the departure day,, bring it on ..
