Nice post. People tend to forget the true meaning of Christmas. They forget that its not about the busy shopping time or how much chocolates or gift we get but it is about the birth of our savior. We should teach our children about the true meaning of christmas so they can instill the values that they should learn in their children as well.

Thanks very much for the card and your kind thoughts, guys. The family also thank you for your generous donation which I will put in to the collection tomorrow in aid of Cancer Research UK. As you will be able to imagine, it has been a very difficult few weeks and no doubt tomorrow will be no easier. There are a lot of momories which will, I'm sure, ease things over time. Hope to catch up with you soon.
Best regards,
Bobby

I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to be at the dinner, my back was giving me serious problems and by Tuesday morning I couldn't sit for more than 30 minutes without having to lie down again. I spent most of the day flat on my back hoping that it'd be OK but when Pete was getting ready to leave I just had to admit that I just couldn't make it. I was so disappointed. I had my best frock washed and I'd cleaned my shoes all ready.

I had a fish supper here and a very early night.

I'm getting better now, I can sit to work for a few hours but I'm still walking a bit wobbly and it's not just because of the tablets!

Hoping to get to Dalkeith for the draw but I still can't promise anything.

Your bouquet of flowers that Pete brought back for me are absolutely gorgeous, but I'm smacking your hands for spending money on me!

Bikers set £5k targets ahead of epic trek

Published Date: 21 January 2009
A GROUP of West Lothian motorcyclists are to ride across ten countries in nine days to raise money for charity.

Jim Mitchell, from Torphichen, and brother Ian will make the mammoth trek with six friends to collect money for Cancer Research UK and the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).

They also hope to auction off a top-of-the-range off-road motorbike to help reach their target of £5000 for each charity.

Tickets for the auction to win a brand new BMW F800 GS will be sold for £5 each at The Centre in Livingston this weekend, as well as at the Gyle shopping centre on February 14-15.

A dinner and auction will be held at the Beecraigs Restaurant in Linlithgow next month.

Just a quick update, Jim, to let you all know that Laura from the "Daily Record" met with me and my brother Martin on Friday to talk about the trip. Laura also spoke in depth with Martin about his ongoing treatment. We've to let her have some family pictures of Martin and his grand-kids and she hopes to run the story in the next couple of weeks. Martin and I would both like to thank Laura for her empathy and time.

Cheers guys. Bobby

By christ I hope Jim moodie dosent announce he wants to join us on the run,coz if he does am gonna have to ask Mr Twaddle for a loan of his R wan,or big max for the Ducati munster but somehow I still dont think that would be enough. But really looking forward to meeting Jim,and I would just like to thank an auld getting fitter and slimmer Mr George Gibson for his input on setting this up with Jim Moodie thanks George thats another one im owe you.Anyhow had a meet up with the guy's 2nite and by eck as they say in yorkshire we still have oor work cut out but again all guy's are up for the challenge. Were going to try and get some press releases soon in the hope for some sponsorship to help with the cost of the trip as we are paying our own way at the moment,an expense that I can ill afford but if needed will find as its something else scored off the bucket list. And I would also like to say Big Mack you will be sorely missed big pal but I know your getting looked after no more suffering.
